The innovative Johannesburg-born culinary Chef Katlego Mlambo is once again set to bring his sizzling creativity and local twist to South African television screens as he returns to MasterChef South Africa Season 6, as a judge.
Mlambo, a cookery graduate with over 15 years of experience has cooked besides some of South Africa’s most distinguished chefs, including Luke Dale Roberts, Ivor Jones and Eric Bulpitt to name a few. His impressive career has spanned across top restaurants in Cape Town, Johannesburg and London.
As a judge in this year’s show, Mlambo brings heart and heritage to the MasterChef kitchen.
“MasterChef is the biggest cooking show in the world and I think for me being a judge with my fellow judges is amazing. MasterChef basically wants the people of Mzansi to put South Africa on a plate,” said Mlambo.
He added, “I think what we’re doing this time, the show being on our new home channel, e.tv, I’m very excited because I think it’s going to kiss and touch all the other corners of South Africa, but most importantly I’m also excited because now we get to celebrate our heritage.”
On the other hand, the seasoned Chef is taking on new ventures, these include his culinary company and a restaurant of the same name Alles Gut. He is also entering a new personal chapter to close off 2025, fatherhood.
With his signature “cheeky, bold, and delicious” style, Chef Katlego continues to change the world one plate at a time. His story is one that reminds us that food brings people together; food is enriched with heritage, heart and storytelling.
