Springboks captain Siyamthanda Kolisi said reaching the 100th cap in the green and gold colors is special as he became the 9th player to reach this milestone.
Kolisi’s centurion was marked by a come from behind win at the Stade France stadium in Paris as the Boks claimed a 32-17 win against France in the Quilter Nations Series.
Kolisi said, reaching a 100th match for the Springboks is special.
“It means a lot to me and my family and to the team too. I think I can’t take credit for everything I’ve achieved. It has been so many people along the way that have helped me, and I think through the toughest of times, my Lord and Saviour Jesus, I have to thank him,” said Kolisi.
He further said that he has been through so much, but he had always had a helper with him.
“Everything I have done is not by my own doing. I’m nothing without the boys. I’m so grateful for the way we fought, and I think for everyone who grew-up in similar circumstances like me, no matter the skin colour, I just want to let them know that it is possible,” he alluded.
Scoring three tries was enough to claim a 29th victory in the 47th meeting between these two nations.
Sasha-Feinberg Mngomezulu once again produced a stellar performance converting penalties and scoring one try, which saw him walk away with the man of the match award.
