Bafana Bafana picked up maximum points after a 2-1 win against Angola in Marrakech Stadium in Morocco at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The win meant that for the first time since the 2004 edition, Bafana Bafana have won their opening game at AFCON, breaking 21 years when they beat Benin 2-0.

Goals from Oswin Appolis in the 21st minute and Lyle Foster in the 79th minute ensured that Hugo Broos’s men started on the positive note, while a consolation goal from Manuel Show in the 35th minute was not enough for the Angolan side.

The match started on a high as both sides showed hunger and the determination to collect all the points. Bafana survived a scare in the 28th minute from a corner, but Williams was equal to the task.

In the second half, Bafana came out guns blazing as a sublime finish from Tshepang Moremi was ruled to be offside. Mbekezeli Mbokazi also unleashed a thunderous strike only to be denied by a post.

The next match for Bafana is on the 26th against Egypt as they looking to continue on their impressive run.
