The Sea Robbers downed the Natal Rich Boys to book a spot in the final at a packed Moses Mabhida Stadium this afternoon.
A solitary goal from an in-form Tshepang Moremi ensured that Orlando Pirates shoot into a Carling Knockout Cup final, their second this season after clinching the MTN8 title.
As things stand, Pirates will either face Golden Arrows or Marumo Gallants in the final. The match between Abafana Besthende and Bahlabane ba Ntwa will take place tomorrow at King Zwelithini Stadium with the kick-off scheduled for 3 pm.
Speaking to the media, Pirates mentor, Abdeslam Ouaddou, said his side did not play beautiful football, but they did enough to reach the final.
“I can’t say we had a fantastic game in terms of playing beautiful football, but it’s a cup game. I think we saw a strong team with good organisation from Orlando Pirates,” said Ouaddou.
He alluded that his players showed resilience.
“Sometimes this is what you need to reach the finals. Luckily, this is what they did today. I think this was a good team performance throughout the match,” he added.
After the completion of the second semi-final tomorrow, Premier Soccer League (PSL) will announce the kick-off time and venue for the final fixture in due course.
