South African pop star Tyla is continuing her global rise, with her latest single Chanel making a major impact on international music charts.
The track has already reached an impressive 32 million streams, beating the early performance of her breakout hit Water at the same stage of its release.
Chanel marks another big milestone in Tyla’s fast-growing career and highlights her influence in shaping the global pop and amapiano fusion sound. Her growing success reflects a strong international fan base and the momentum she has built since Water became a worldwide hit.
Her earlier hit Water not only dominated global playlists — it also earned her the first-ever Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance in 2024. Among many other accolades, Tyla has also been named World Artist of the Year at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards, as well as clinching Top Afrobeats Artist and Top Afrobeats Song at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards.
With Chanel now outperforming her previous releases, music experts believe Tyla could be headed for yet another global chart-topper. Her unique sound, striking visuals, and confident stage presence continue to strengthen her position as one of South Africa’s biggest musical exports.
Adding to her success, Tyla was recently nominated for the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, which will take place on 1 February 2026 in Los Angeles, California.
