While there have been complaints about staggering youth unemployment numbers and entrepreneurship funding struggles, the KwaZulu-Natal government says it’s trying to do what it can to help.
Recently, Premier Thamsanqa Ntuli handed over equipment to entrepreneurs while health MEC, Nomagugu Simelane, shared internship opportunities.
Ntuli visited youth-owned GospeTech PTY (LTD) in Pietermaritzburg to hand over a vehicle and equipment that 26-year-old owner, Sindi Mthiyane, says will be very useful.

Speaking on behalf of the company, NoxoloMsomi says: “The car will make it easy for us to deliver services and stock up.”
In a press statement, the premier’s office says youth businesses that receive their support go through stringent vetting processes.
They say the next stop is at Inkiyankiya Group in Empangeni.
In a different initiative – Health MEC, Nomagugu Simelane says the government is now opening pharmacy internships in KwaZulu-Natal. There are reports that say there is a nationwide freeze of such positions nationally, but the province says this has been lifted locally.
