Need a quick and easy snack between study sessions? These simple three-ingredient biscuits are the perfect fix for both your sweet tooth and on-the-go snack. You can enjoy them with a cup of tea, coffee, or even on their own.

All you need are butter, sugar, and flour—ingredients most students already have sitting in their kitchen. With exams around the corner and the semester winding down, this is also a great way to use up what’s left in your pantry before the break.

    Ingredients

    • 250 g butter or margarine
    • ½ cup white sugar (granulated or icing sugar both work)
    • 2 cups flour

    Method

    1. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar using a whisk or wooden spoon until the mixture becomes light and fluffy.
    2. Gradually sift in the flour and mix until the dough starts to blend together. When it starts forming crumbs, switch to using your hands. Add a bit more flour if it’s too sticky.
    3. (Optional) Chill the dough in the fridge for about 30 minutes – this makes it easier to work with.
    4. Lightly dust your workspace and rolling pin (or even a glass) with flour, then roll out the dough until it’s flat.
    5. Cut out your biscuits using a glass or cookie cutter, any shape works!
    6. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 10 – 15 minutes or until golden brown.

These biscuits are simple, affordable, and guaranteed to make your study breaks a little sweeter. Perfect for sharing with roommates, or keeping all to yourself!
