In a rally held in Durban’s Curries Fountain, Democratic Alliance (DA) KwaZulu-Natal premier candidate and Umngeni mayor, Chris Pappas, said his party has a rescue package for the province should it win in the provincial election to be held in two weeks.
“I want to promise that I will ensure the creation of 300 000 real jobs, not piece jobs. I want to promise the age restriction limiting job access to only those between 18 and 35 years old will be removed. The social grant will be increased, no kids will suffer under the DA government,” declared Pappas.
DA national spokesperson, Solly Malatsi stated that despite opposition from other parties, Chris Pappas not only became the mayor of Umngeni but is also leading effectively.
According to the DA PR Councillor in Msunduzi Municipality, Nomathemba Phungula, DA has done everything to earn the public’s trust. They say DA support has increased to 26% which is something that has never happened before.
“DA has the potential to win a provincial seat,” said Phungula.
