Orlando Pirates defender, Mbekezi “TLB” Mbokazi has been linked with a move to a USA Major League Side (MLS), Chicago Fire.
The 20-year-old who hails from Hluhluwe in northern KwaZulu-Natal, is expected to make a US$3 million (R51 million) transfer to Major League Soccer if he agrees to the terms and signs.
If Mbokazi’s deal succeeds, he is set to join two other South African players in the MLS, Bongokuhle Hlongwane at Minnesota United and Olwethu Makhanya at Philadelphia Union.
The youngster is also included in coach Hugo Broos’s preliminary quad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nation (AFCON) set to take place in Morocco next month from 21 December to 18 January, after which he will head to the US for pre-season training.
