Visitors to the province of KwaZulu-Natal are urged to explore more than just the beaches. The plea came from the province’s MEC for Economic Development, Tourism & Agriculture – Rev. Musa Zondi. “KwaZulu-Natal is not only open, but we are ready, refreshed, and rising with purpose.”
He says while the province still receives the biggest share of domestic tourists in South Africa, there is also a massive increase of international tourists. “Between January and May alone, Durban received more than 2.8 million domestic trips, over 186 000 international visitors,” Zondi added.
In showcasing the wider province, the summer activation was held in La Clef Boutique Hotel in Balgowan. The hotel is situated in the picturesque green hills of the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. They say they’ve hosted weddings, music shows, and other events in their short time of existence. “We give every event and function a different approach and different experience,” said Le Clef owner, Sthe Zungu.
As they launched their summer tourism activation, KZN Tourism & Film Authority treated guests to hip-hop sounds of MusiholiQ and jazz saxophonist Yommy Sax.
