Orlando Pirates players dominated the Premier Soccer League (PSL) Awards after collecting the majority of the top honours for the 2025/26 season.
The Buccaneers entered the awards with an impressive 19 nominations across seven categories, reflecting a campaign in which they established themselves as one of the league’s standout teams.
Relebohile Mofokeng, who has since signed for Belgian club Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, emerged as the biggest winner of the evening.
The 21-year-old scooped the prestigious PSL Footballer of the Season award, which is voted for by Premier Division head coaches. He also received the Betway Premiership Players’ Player of the Season award, voted for by his fellow professionals across the league.
To complete a remarkable night, Mofokeng was named Young Player of the Season for a record third consecutive year.
Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, who succeeded José Riveiro, was named Betway Premiership Coach of the Season in his debut campaign.
Other award winners included:
- Goal of the Season: Cemran Dansin, for his stunning left-footed volley against Mamelodi Sundowns
- Goalkeeper of the Season: Sipho Chaine, who kept a record 21 clean sheets
- Midfielder of the Season: Oswin Appollis
- Defender of the Season: Lebone Seema
- Carling Knockout Player of the Tournament: Mbekezeli Mbokazi
- MTN8 Last Man Standing: Tshepang Moremi
Reflecting on the season, the club said Ouaddou had inherited a squad that had learned how to win. Whether the team can now defend what it has achieved is the question the next campaign will answer.
