Whether you’re planning a romantic date night, catching up with friends over lunch or celebrating a special occasion, Hussar Grill’s KwaZulu-Natal branches are offering a range of dining specials to suit different tastes and budgets.
At Hussar Grill Kloof, diners can enjoy the Winter Two-Course Menu for R349 per person, available until 31 August 2026. The offer includes a choice of either a starter and main course or a main course and dessert. Guests can also add a glass of Hussar Grill Premium Red Blend for R60, or a bottle for R180.
We tried the Winter Special, on a Thursday night, it is however available on any night of the week for the duration of the Winter season.
We selected the main course and dessert option, the one meal was the lamb shank served on a bed of mashed potatoes and malva pudding as the dessert option. The second meal was the rich pork belly served with butternut and creamed spinach,the dessert was also malva pudding served with ice cream.
The lamb shank was tender, well cooked and falling off the bone. The potato mash was a tad bit disappointing, it was as smooth as I’d hoped but it was tasty nevertheless. The portion sizes were big enough to feed a feast! We both struggled to finish our plates! So we both took doggy bags home. Oh, I must comment on the doggy bags, they were these lovely reusable plastic square containers that are microwaveable and not the silver tin foil ones that you can’t microwave your leftovers in, that was a nice touch.
Back to the delicious dessert, I’m a sucker for warm/cold desserts, so I thoroughly enjoyed the contrast of the warm malva pudding and cold vanilla ice cream. I did wish I’d had more ice cream though, because the pudding was rather large!
Would I try the Winter special again? I definitely will! Next time I’ll go for the oxtail and maybe a butternut soup as a starter.
We chose to drink Appeltisers since drinks weren’t included in the special.
The service was impeccable, our waiter surprised us with an inhouse bottle of the Hussar Grill Premium red blend as a birthday gift when he heard that we were celebrating my friend’s birthday! A splendid surprise!
If you’re looking for a weekday lunch option, Hussar Grill is also offering its Seasonal Lunch Menu for R199 per person at participating branches, including Kloof and Hussar Grill Oceans in Umhlanga. Available from Monday to Saturday between 12:00 and 16:00, the menu allows guests to choose either a starter and main course or a main course and dessert.

For couples,or friends the popular Tuesday Date Night special is also available at the Kloof and Oceans Mall branches. Diners can enjoy a two-course meal for R499 per couple or a three-course meal for R599 per couple. The offer includes a complimentary bottle of Hussar Grill Premium Red Blend or HER Sauvignon Blanc/Chenin Blanc, or two soft drinks, making it an affordable midweek treat.
